New crime graphic novel “Write It In Blood” is coming next February, Image Comics announced today. From the creative team of Rory McConville (“Judge Dredd”), Joe Palmer (“2000 AD”), Chris O’Halloran (“Ice Cream Man”) and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou (editor of PanelxPanel), the creator-owned comic from the Portland, Oregon-based publisher delves into family loyalty and broken dreams.
The graphic novel follows brothers Cosmo and Arthur Pryce, hitmen driving through the Texas countryside with Little Harkness in the trunk of their car. The brothers are supposed to deliver Harkness to their boss, but matters get complicated when Arthur’s recklessness messes up Cosmo’s retirement plans and puts a target on their backs, according to a press release from Image.
“I’m thrilled to have been a part of making this book happen,” said Palmer. “Rory’s a great writer and has crafted a really tight crime thriller. The fact that Image Comics is publishing it is a dream come true. If you’re into Coen brothers’ movies and crime stories with a streak of humor you’ll love this.”
McConville added: “Collaborating with Joe, Chris and Hass on ‘Write It In Blood’ has been an incredible experience. They're all doing career-best work and I hope people enjoy reading the book as much as we did making it.”
The graphic novel is expected to hit direct market store shelves on Feb. 24, 2021, and it’ll be for sale in bookstores the following week. “Write It In Blood” will also be available for purchase from digital outfits which include comiXology, Google Play, Apple Books and Amazon Kindle.
